"Mad" Max & Jack "Fenway"
Mascots and all-around cute puppies
puppyjack@gulu-gulu.com

Max is a refugee from the far-off land of Oklahoma. He is a pretty shy little guy who enjoys sleeping, eating, and bossing Jack around.

Jack is a Boston terrier. He is a HUGE Red Sox fan and was born during the pivotal ALDS Series against the Yankees. He enjoys his ball, other dogs, licking, and cuddling.

Laura
Manager
laura@gulu-gulu.com

I've fulfilled my childhood dream of meeting Hall & Oates this year, so I'm not so sure what I should do with myself now.  Yes, Hall is very tall & Oates is very short (and unfortunately without mustache).  I pursued a degree in philosophy which turned out to be so useless that I've moved on to getting yet another useless degree in psychology.  I'm trying to learn the bass guitar.  Let's see how useful that turns out to be.  I would much rather watch The Dukes of Hazzard than The Godfather. My husband says I'm a cross between Drew Barrymore & Sara Silverman.  I think he's generous. My aforementioned husband is an artist & a musician; so far my daughter seems to be a musician & a scientist.  We all love Salem and embrace silliness.

Thary
Manager
thary@gulu-gulu.com

Thary is at an interesting point in her life. She’s still discovering her likes and dislikes and will keep you posted. (They’re unfortunately always changing.) However, I can tell you she’s mildly obsessed with Bill Hicks and is into conspiracy theories. She’s still trying to find out how the world works, so her brain hurts from time to time. Other than that, she’s great to be around, is super friendly, and loves to cuddle!

Joe
Kitcher Manager
joe@gulu-gulu.com

Joe is a 25 yr. old Lynn native who cooks here at the Gulu-Gulu Café. You can usually find him in the kitchen being quiet and serving up some serious eats. When he's not working he likes to enjoy the establishment’s fine wine and beer list. If you come in and have any questions feel free to stop by the kitchen and say hi… (he doesn't get very many visitors and truly appreciates a smile and some conversation).

Alicia
Barista

Alicia is currently approaching her fifth year at Salem State College, where she is studying photography. In her free time she is a skater for the Boston Derby Dames. At home in Boston she plays for the Cosmonaughties and she also skates for the all star travel team the Boston Massacre. Alicia loves ice cream and rock n’ roll.

Amanda
Server
labeled_lword@yahoo.com

Manda lives in Salem. Currently attending Salem State College, she is a science geek. She loves going to shows and adding new CD's to her collection. Her favorite color is green and she has a passionate hatred for cheese.

Amanda
Barista
amndapwrs@yahoo.com

Amanda moved to Massachusetts seven years ago from Kingman Arizona. She is very political and philosophical, sometimes to the point of being obnoxious (because many of her own views contradict each other). Her interests include good art, bad art, and even worse art, crazy foreign films, astrology (her birthday is August 31, making her a Virgo) walking around, reading, and drinking obscene amounts of espresso. She is a coffee fanatic and has strict views on how coffee and espresso drinks should be prepared.

Andrea
Server
andrea.gourley@massart.edu

My name is Andrea and I’m 19. My favorite colors are all the colors of the rainbow. I love to play sports and to be a goofball. Having fun is the best thing ever, I love being myself.

April
Cook
bahpoo212@hotmail.com

April currently lives in Salem. She grew up all over Massachusetts and enjoys meeting awesome people. She is one of the dwindling few New Englanders who actually appreciates all the seasons and rarely complains about them. April loves roadtrips, anything Crayola, and laughing.

Brandon
Server
graniterobot@yahoo.com

Brandon has lived in Lynn for his entire life. He currently goes to Mass Art in Boston where he is majoring in Illustration and working towards his bachelors degree. He is actively involved with RAW Art Works and enjoys drawing, painting, reading and creating comics, listening to sweet tunes, going to the beach, and wandering.

Brian
Server
agent1bdi@gmail.com

Brian is a mysterious drummer originally from Lynn - although some say he now resides in Salem.  No one knows for sure.  He enjoys chess, video games, long walks on the beach, sunsets, and progressive rock n’ roll music, not necessarily in that order.

Chloe
Server
chloebattlesthepinkrobots@gmail.com

Danny
Server
boheminawoods@gmail.com

Danny just recently moved to Salem after an excursion in Lynn for about 19 years. He loves art, has an eclectic taste in music, digs good movies and loves meeting new people. One day he plans on knowing everything worth knowing.

JD
Barista
jdleon@hotmail.com

JD grew up in Wakefield MA. and now lives in Salem with friends and his insane cat TC (“The Cat!”).  He loves the old time look around Salem.   He attended NSCC and received a degree in horticulture witch will be of absolutely no use at the Gulu-Gulu.

He is addicted to creating stone structures, has a skill in landscape design, construction, and installation.  He passes his time hiking, camping, biking, and longboarding.

Joanna
Server
tillingmyown@aol.com

Joanna is living in fish-town originally from New York. In her spare time she enjoys working on beading projects, hanging out with friends, watching obscure horror films, singing, cooking, reading everything, and drinking coffee.

Kara
Server
karbro99@aol.com

Kara grew up in the city of Lynn, but is really a Salem townie at heart.  She works full-time as a clothing merchandiser, playing dress-up all day; but she gets her kicks at the Gulu on the weekends!  She’s still chipping away at a business degree from Salem State.  Kara loves all types of music (almost), exploring new places, and soaking in a good sunset from time to time.

Mark
Cook
markjeffery@gmail.com

This is Mark.  Sure he looks ordinary in this picture but look around the café.  Do you see him?  Of course not.  Mark works his magic from behind the scenes.  In fact, behind the scenes work has been a staple of the times that he’s kept.  Mark is so interesting. He bought Michael Vick his first puppy.  He gave investment advice to Warren Buffet.  He kept Nixon out drinking the night before his debate with Kennedy.  His prowess at pinball inspired a song.  He formed the Wig party, reformed it, and then destroyed it.  He introduced John to Yoko.  He ran back to Greece to tell of the victory at Marathon.  He manned the guillotine over Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.  He built Rome, and then gave it to Romulus and Remus.  He played truth or dare with Catherine the Great.  He popularized the top hat.  He is one of the world’s most acclaimed Kabuki actors. Don’t let him look you in the eyes.

Tana
Server
sindlerka@yahoo.com

Tana, a native of the Czech Republic, recently came to States to continue her work in the social fields. She holds a masters degree in Psychology from Masaryk University in Brno. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, singing, skating, skiing, and many other things that start with the letter “s”.

Tiffany
Server
tffnystv@aol.com

Tiffany is a married mother of two- she is convinced that she is an uninteresting soccer mom however we beg to differ.   We here at the Gulu-Gulu Café feel that Tiffany is incredibly interesting and one heck of a waitress by golly!
